Xtr@: THE BRITISH VERSION OF THE AMERICAN SERIES ´FRIENDS`

Xtr@ is a language education television programme  franchise that was scripted in the format of a Friends-esque sitcom in an authentic London setting.  This hilarious series is about  Bridget and Annie, who share a flat in London and the boys next door, Nick and his friend Hector from Argentina.  Mainly  addressed for middle school and high school language learners these episodes are an excellent  way to learn English put it to natural use in everyday activities.

ONOMATOPOEIAS

Onomatopoeias  literally mean "to make a name (or sound)." That is to say that the word means nothing more than the sound it makes. These words change from a language to another. For instance : ´Ay!` (Spanish) ´Ow`, ´Ouch` (English.)

Morever , an onomatopoeia  may have different meaning, for instance the word . Slap, is not only the sound that is made by skin hitting skin but also the action of hitting someone (usually on the face) with an open hand. 

It is true that onomatopoeias can be difficult to understand without examples. Examples help us to  see and sound out actual words. Some of the most comon onomatopoeias in English are the following.
